The data dog is essentially telling their customers to use open telemetry, but they basically want it to be one way. They asked him to take it out. He said he could have pushed back, but he felt like a professional courtesy that the vendor said not to do it. It has been incorporated into the API. So good news for everyone. Looks like you can get your data out of data dog now using the API.
