How to Navigate a Politics Through That?
After 9 11, there was this really powerful idea of America, the innocent nation victimized by terrorists. This victim identity premised on America's fundamental innocence validated the righteousness of the American government's militarist response. And then perhaps further through today, is the general American unraveling that we're witnessing right now? I think it puts the left into what I can just accurately described as a deeply ambivalent position.
