Brachial Plexus Injuries
Brachial plexus injuries are usually the result of macro somia, shoulder distotia, prolonged labor and or forceps assisted delivery. Injuries are classified into four groups using the naracas classification. Most injuries recover spontaneously with bisubs function returning within three months of life portending a good prognosis. The vast majority of injuries involved c five to c six, with 90 % spontaneous recovery.
