The Evolution of Virals

CNN's John Sutter takes on the question of what organisms evolve most rapidly and longest. He says viaroids, which have a high mutation rate, come to mind as an organism that can tolerate extreme changes in its environment. The answer may be "virus-like particles" like bacteria who don't code for anything but are able to replicate at huge rates.
