Most of our society is based on what we call negative feedback loops or inhibiting feedback loops which is to say that we're trying to bring our behavior in line with something. It's like we want to have people do their jobs, this is okay but the thing is profit. Profit is a positive or amplifying feedback loop. Most of business and most of people's activity is trying to bring their behavior inline with something which is inhibiting to create an amplifying feedbackloop. And by the way an amplified feedback loop defies perpetual motion machines. Perpetual motion machine being that you've got a machine that can run forever because it never runs out of energy he doesn't run
