What Is the Scale of Plant Life in Berbis?
There are probably no more than about 350 europeans in the colony. No more forty 500 to five thousand people of african descent, and another 350 native people who are enslaved on plantations. So it's a small place. The company plantations are the largest ones, and they may have between a hundred and a hundred and 50 people on them. And that is true too in neighbouring surinam.
