The Importance of Connection in Social Movements
When you see thousands of people in one space marching down a road, it's really powerful. But then when you see millions of people put black boxes on their Instagram accounts, it's not that powerful. In religion, like you're saying, there's that need to make a connection. That's part of how you're taught to engage with other people. And I think that that same is almost true in social movements for them to be powerful.
