Posteralateral Corner Injuries - What Are the Options?
The first goal in treatment of this patient is to determine if his varus is primary or secondary, which can be accomplished by obtaining long leg alignment films. Any postro lateral corner reconstruction in the setting of untreated varsmile alignment will have a higher failure rate as a result of increased forces across the reconstruction grade. The test is positive when there is greater than a ten to 15 degree difference compared to the uninjured side.
