The Effect of Likes on Self-Esteem

As more women were entering the workforce, what we saw was that on the female side, the abuse was with food. That was not a happy place. It may have been a false sense of happiness, because I look better, or I look more along the lines of what society is expecting me to look like - but it's not happiness inside. People who are abusing substances, I think, are putting themselves in a position where they're making it harder to have the natural high that comes from an achievement or a good time with someone. There is an over-reliance that can happen, where it undermines our self-esteem.
