The History of the Hongwoo Emperor
The Hongwoo emperor was a friend of Islam and openly and unabashedly praised the prophet Mohammed. He's also credited with the Dominglu or law code of the Great Ming. In 1371 just a few years into his reign he issued what was called the Hai Qing it was a ban on maritime trade. We'll come back another day to look at Islam and China in more detail.
