The Cable News Layoffs
CNN did layoffs in 2014, cutting about 10% of the workforce. Most of the time, a person who has a contributor gig believes that cable news provides them with a platform to further their own brand or their own reputation and will probably come back for free so long as CNN is willing to send a car. Dylan: A lot of people at CNN are cranky about this and throwing darts at Chris Licht and blaming him. Is Chris like the only person laying people off in media? No.
