What Are Some of the Biggest and Most Unexpected Changes in D&D?

I didn't realize that I had no idea how much role play was involved in D&D. The funniest to me is when I like role play romantic stuff with Murph. When Gemma kisses me on the balcony, but Murph is like she kisses you. Emma H asks what are some of the biggest and or most unexpected changes that the band of boobs characters have gone through. What types of character growth were you expecting? Another character is following that trajectory or having unexpected transformations.
