The Science of Fractal Patterns

Florence Williams: We're drawn to patterns because that's the way we learn to read the world. Our visual perceptual system evolved to read natural landscapes using a search pattern that is fractal. It can give our brains a break from feeling overwhelmed by interpreting information in our environment, and it may refresh us from the fatigues of the day.
