What's the Difference Between Gnosticism and Taoism?

I'm curious where Eastern philosophies like Buddhism and Taoism in relation to Gnosticism and Hermeticism. I honestly don't have a problem if people want to take up spiritual practices of that kind. The totalitarian collectivist track of it that becomes very concerning. But if you're seeing this as a personal path toward virtue enhancement and personal development, probably fine. If you think we're going to remake the world with it, definitely not fine.
