The Story of Sherman Edwards

Inventor Sherman Edwards was a high school history teacher before becoming a full-time musician and songwriter. 1776 focused on John Adams and his attempt to get the Continental Congress to declare independence from Great Britain. The show starred William Daniels as John Adams, Ken Howard as Thomas Jefferson, and Howard De Silva as Benjamin Franklin. It also went on to earn several Tony nominations.
