Is the Spanish Civil War on the Horizon?
In the near term, there's going to be more grinding and more kind of World War One-style trench warfare. In the long term, everybody I talked to in Washington keeps bringing up the Spanish Civil War. It took three years, but bit by bit by bit, they were able to take all of Spain. And that's kind of what a lot of people in Washington see in Ukraine's future.
