How to Measure Social Mood

Mood in Europe today, is it best reflected in the euro itself? I think that what has happened with the euro over the last couple of months or so is more an effect of social mood rather than a reflection. It's sort of a lagging indicator. People were pretty pessimistic already. What back when the euro was in the 120s or 130s even, people were already pessimistic here in Europe. So the fact that now it's finally gone into decline is probably more a reflection of the fact that the euro, people are even more pessimistic today than they were five years ago.
