The Reagan Administration and the Sanctuary Movement
The Reagan administration says people fleeing El Salvador are economic migrants, not political refugees. After a while, I felt it was almost a farce. A lot of people in the government started to feel that what was being called the sanctuary movement wasn't just a religious movement but also a political protest movement.
