The Importance of Core Competencies in Medicine
I think that fundamentally we're at a line with what everyone needs to do in terms of core competencies. A lot of people do require medicine to do something that's out of their strength area, right? I have a friend who's a brilliant mechanic. He like sleeps in his garage. He reads a book a day. But we're asking, as a society, we're not valuing his genius. We're asking everyone to do something very different.
