The Importance of Work Authorization for Asylum Seekers

We must expedite work authorization for asylum seekers, not in the future, but now. In New York City, throughout our state and across the country, we have thousands of unfilled jobs. If you give them work authorization papers, what is that not an incentive? Is that not an invitation to come?
