Travelling Abroad in the 19th Century
The novelist Trolop went around the world about twice I mean and he was not alone people were incredibly adventurous much more than we might imagine now. So in these early days of tourism in the 19th century what were some of the most desirable destinations? The Netherlands, Belgium, Brussels, Ghent, Bruges and of course Germany which remained one of the number one destinations for English tourists right up to the Second World War.
