What's Happening to the University of Toronto?

i thinkh there's a couple of myths about academic employment that help to sustain this culture. The institution has rules that are, you know, theyr, very near liberal. There's the few select tenure track, or ten positions, which are the privileged positions. And so then what this does, it creates a climate where contract faculty have very little room to to say no. When you're asked to do service, when you're asked for all these extra things, you quite likely will say yes. You have very flexible, malable, exploitable workers. It pits workers against each other and makes it seem as though some of us are special and some people aren't.
