In 19 70, 16 years after the ruling and brownvee board, it looked like things were finally about to change. Ti fanny lehamer was raised in sunflowe county and worked on cotton plantations there. She risked her life to register the vote and to get her neighbors registered. David jackson grew up north of indianola in the 19 sixties. As a kid, he helped his parents pick cotton in the fields. I still live on the road that i was born on.
