The Global South and the World System in the Nineteenth Century
In the 19 seventies, financial entities in the us lent money to the global south. They're interested in getting repaid and mobilizing existing domestic international institutions on their behalf. These are people who will have an enormous influence on the future shape that the global monetary system takes. The dominance of the dollar, how to protect the special role of the dolla, and how to maintain the financial liability of financial ectes in the global north become two driving forces.
