The book is based on a series of encounters between french colonists and representatives of the huron wendat nation. The interactions were recorded in written accounts from the seventeenth into the early eighteenth century. There are more than 70 volumes of this with often quite detailed observations of criticisms that the locals are aiming at french colonists. Theyare observing how europeans behave towards each other.
