The Origins of King John's Charter
In 2015, there were at least 13 originals of King John's charter. They may well have been more, but we know from documentary evidence that there were 13 of those four survive. One of them has been always at Lincoln Cathedral, one always at Sorsbury Cathedral. New research shows the third one went in 1215 to Canterbury Cathedral. And there's a fourth original, also in the British Library.
