Do We Call Out for the French?

i'm a russian pilot, rams and austrian albatross. On the ninth of sep mber 19 14 they both die,. or the crews of both aircraft die. Both aircraft come crashing to earth im you can take your pick as to what the first combat was. I think there's often the comception of aviation being quite chevalric, the gentleman of the sky. Is this perception true?
