The Problem With Psychical Research

In 1890, Huxley wrote that reality is impervious to totalizing moves on the part of intellectuals or anyone else for that matter. The constitution of reality in itself prevents any totalizing move from achieving any real success on the long term. He contrasts a kind of unnamed general, psychical, enthusiast with one of the Huxley brood. There's like five fucking Huxleys, although the one who wrote about psychedelics is cool.
