We do also see that Harry still has some hope to be treated better by the dursleys. What I love about him being optimistic in this moment is that there is no evidence that this will pay off for him, that being hopeful in this moment won't lead to disappointment. So it's almost like a willful opposition of you are not going to get my spirit. I'm still going to be hopeful about you. Right.
