If a high level black belt isn't pulling it off in competition, and if you're not seeing that guard at the gee world championships every single year, it's probably not good. The Baron Bolo is almost got too many steps that wouldn't get done immediately because there's just too many ways to mess it up. There might be some people who would actually be able to pick up the Baron Bolo quite well on their own within three or six months of training. But for me, basics should be the things that work a lot, not necessarily what's the most prevalent.
