Is There a Cultural Difference?
There is a palpable difference between the way european government officials and us. Government officials talk about privacy and data protection versus not merely security, but also economic go th and an innovation. I think that the biggest cultural difference, to be very frank, is the role of government in the first place. There is a much stronger tradition in europe of expectation of government taking on certain tasks.
