The secondary spongiosa is involved in the setting of renal slipped capital femoral epiphesis or skiffy. It's also responsible for external remodeling, otherwise known as funnelization. The treatment of a growth arrest includes bar resection with interposition, or ipsilateral completion of the growth arrest. Indications for an ipsilateral conclusion include less than 50% phicile involvement and greater than two years or two centimeters of growth remaining.
