Empathy Is the Single Greatest Asset You Have as a Leader
The single greatest asset you have as a listener is empathy. Like our leaders, our bosses need to have empathy for us. Empathy is pretty much the only motivation for anything. It's really hard because sometimes people say things to you that are hurtful or personal or mean and out of line. Do you have the capacity for empathy? You don't fire somebody who has performance issues, you ask them what's going on in their lives.
