The son of a blacksmith was apprenticed to a nail maker in rural England. He broke his apprenticeship and ran, you know, to London, almost certainly on foot. At the time, challenger ran to London, it was between 550 and 600,000 people. It was larger than the next 60 English cities and towns put together.
