CNN's John Sutter spoke with Julian Zelizer about his new book, Life After the State. He said economics is taught as though it's an exact science and that people who leave university are biased towards certain schools of economics. In Cuba he saw a situation where everyone wanted their children to be waiters, taxi drivers or prostitutes because that was the way they got dollars. And in some cases, so you had a situation where if she had a good night, a prostitute could more than a professor earns in a year. But surely the intention behind the great Cuban revolution wasn't that every Cuban father would want his daughter to be a hooker?
