Cuba and the Slave Trade
Havana was not a particularly important port for the slave trade in the 18th century. The Spanish had organized a slave trade by a monopoly that limited the number of ships coming in and or limited who could trade them rather. And also sugar hadn't yet taken off then so one of the things that makes the case of Cuba and the slave trade so interesting I think is that a lot of the trade in human beings happens after the abolition of the slave trade.
