Is It Because of the New Religion That Teuton Established During His Reign?
Nefetiti married akenarten and became a queen consort. She is effectively the female counterpoint to the divine pharaoh. Her status was particularly exalted as such, because we find her acting alongside her husband in a way that very, very few previous queens have done so on temple walls. But i think we just have to very slightly question how much of the evidence that has survived is because of her particular circumstances.
