Russia provides far more administrative data on the budget, on elections and on court decisions than we see in many other autocracies. So in many ways, it's really fertile ground for studying autocracy. But of course, we can't close our eyes to the many high profile academics who have left russia in part because they're searching more academic freedom abroad. And there's been a big brain drain among a nati russian scholars to the west. That has not helped russian academia well.
