The default recommended rule sets for both ESLint and TypeScript BSLint have been very intentionally honed to things that are universally applicable. "I think this is actually one of the bigger problems, but lack of perfections in the ECMA community," he says. There are a lot of community plugins that are great that people just don't enable - like regular expressions plugin which detects exponential red jacks.
