Distal Palinx Fractures
Distal falinx fractures are the most common palinx fracture. These can be further subdivided into tuft fractures, shaft fractures, base fractures and semar fractures. Semor fractures involve epiphysial injury of the distal phalanx and results from hyperflexion. Non operative management involves closhes, reduction, plus or minus splinting. Operative options include removing the nail, repairing the nail bed and replacing the nail to maintain the epinicial fold.
