Jeroboam and the ten tribes of the north secede and they establish their own kingdom. Reobom tells him, yea, i youre my father. He whipped you, wh you now with whips. I'll whip you with scorpions,. which doesn't win a lot of friends, apparently. Instead, he took the counsel of people just simply told him what he wanted to hearPeople who were just like him. Seems to make sense. At least we can learn more from people who have wisdom rather than just people who happen to agree with us.
