When things aren't stored linearly, you do have to go back and do that. So we're talking about why not up date in the middle of the files,. Like, why not grit up date the e for some key? And this is one of the reasons, because thet concurrency and the crash recovery are much easier if you're always doing a pend only. It gives us a nice, convenient pattern for falling there, and its low for it's hard to mess up.
