Duke of Northumberland has been accused of being this Machiavellian figure behind the scenes plotting to get his own blood into pole position. So do you think that it was more about getting his son onto the throne, or Jane as a sort of puppet that they could manipulate in many ways? I think we have to recognize that this was a very fast moving, very dangerous, very unpredictable situation. We can't say that Duke of Northumberlands had been planning this for years or even months because Edward had been sickly and always likely to die for years oreven months.
