The 1950 World Cup was held in Brazil but there wasn't a proper final. The Brazilian side were very successful and could have won on points if they'd drawn the match against Germany, which is what happened. It's regarded as the fateful final in Brazil. A really significant moment, as I say, in the national psyche. They went one-nil up in the match and conceded goals towards the end. This was played in the American-Aestadium, which was this great stadium, the biggest stadium in the world. We recognize them now as playing in their yellow kit. They played in white after this match. They never played in white again. After that it was almost a refresh
