During world war one, eugene debbs was the head of the socialist party of america. In 19 20 he ran for president from his prison cell and got a million votes. The second would be the ascendancy of the communist party usa in the 19 thirties. They had probably a million people in this country who were considered to be fellow travellers - they spoke the c p line on almost everythank right. But they weren't formally members. So that's pretty influential. Now, what's going on now with the democratic party? U boy, gee. It looks like there might be, it's not happened yet, right? But it's getting close.
