What Makes Us Curious?
The author has written five books about the psychology of curiosity. He says there are two types of curiosity, perceptual and epistemic. Perceptual curiosity puts us in a state of unpleasantness or conflict. Epistemic curiosity is more pleasant because it's an anticipation of reward. In his latest book he explores why we're so interested in things outside our field.
