The History of Shandong Province
Hong Taiji surrounded the new fortifications at Da Ling Ha City, a strategic outpost just north of the Ming stronghold at Jin Zhou. Relief columns sent in October were decimated by the Manchu forces. Hong Taiji then laid siege to Dengzhou, which fell to him on February 22nd, 1632.
