How Do We Know That More Is Happening?
When we are reaching the middle of the ninth century, we begin to see these very pronounced changes in the way viking groups travelle and organize themselves across francia. So their attacks become much more commonplace. And rather than just targeting no smaller coastal settlements, they now seem to have become of these much largernd complex military campaigns. These included some of the most important, well defended frankish centres of trade and religion and political governments.
