God is tolerant of error by ignorance. He's very intolerant of institutionalized apostasy, he says. God could punish everybody because none of us are going to be perfect in our worship. But this or that boneheaded thing that somebody who's truly sincere and just kind of messes up or doesn't know better, that's the kind of thing God's going to respond to with a high hand.
