Is a Million a Cooler Number Than 900,000?
A million is such a huge round number. It's much sexier than 999,000 and 999. When a movie hits 100 million at the box office, that's cooler than 98 million. Even if that number is only one unit more than 999,999, that 1 million will always seem more impressive than one unit below it. This is like the economics lesson of the pop shop podcast. Well, I mean, take 999,000 Taylor Swift albums and then add it to sales theory.
